Sailors caught the moment when a 14ft Sawfish surfaces from the sea!!!!

In the recent decade, many species of animals had been put to the endangered list while some where even put on the extinct list. Unfortunately the list is getting more and more additional members as the years have gone past. Though new species are discovered annually, the rate where animals get extinct are higher than the rate of their recovery that’s why we don’t see any more marvelous creatures in the wild because of human activities. The ocean and rivers where once rich with Giant creatures that can reach up to more than 20ft in length. But now scientists and researchers can only see creatures half their usual sizes and in today’s time, it’s already a good sign.

A sailor in Florida Keys was so lucky to have caught a very elusive creature on film when it went close to his boat and spins like it was showing off. The creature was an estimated 14ft long Sawfish. Yes, it is a sawfish not a swordfish. The fish is actually related to a manta ray than to an actual fish. The major characteristic of the specie that people always notice is the flat beak that has dozens of sharp teeth protruding on the sides like a chainsaw blade. The body of this fish is almost flat that will really resemble a ray when in the water. Researchers also say that a sawfish can grow up to 23ft in length.

Before, if you ever caught a sawfish this size it would probably fetch you thousands of dollars but due to overfishing and hunting the U.S. government has put this fish on the endangered list back in 2003 and is now illegal to catch.
