Isang Babae nga ba ang Nabiktima ng Kauna-Unahang Flakka Drug dito sa Pilipinas?

Flakka is a street drug with origins in South Florida. One of the newer chemicals in the booming category of synthetic or designer drugs, Flakka is typically made from a synthetic version of an amphetamine-like stimulant in the cathinone class called alpha-PVP.

Cathinones are chemicals derived from the khat plant originating in the Middle East and Somalia—where the leaves are frequently chewed for a euphoric buzz. People who use Flakka can display cases of bizarre and uncontrollable behavior.  People who take the drug are often left unable to talk and have no idea what is going on around them until the drug wears off.

When people take the drug, they become a clear danger to themselves and others. Experts say the high from flakka can be compared to the high caused by snorting cocaine, the only difference, flakka has the potential to be much more dangerous.

Even the smallest overdose of the drug can lead to the most extreme symptoms, “excited delirium” being the most common. This symptom is synonymous with violent behaviour, spikes in body temperature and paranoia. The main reason for some of the sickening videos spreading across the net? The drug can make users have feelings of super strength coupled with a pure feeling of rage. Biting into people’s arms, breaking down reinforced doors while screaming that you are Satan? Sadly, instances like that are the norm for those who take flakka. Recently, on one Facebook page (Filipino Community) uploaded a video of a girl who at the Chaos Manila Nightclub City Of Dreams. People think that the girl allegedly took a flakka because you can see on the said video that she's undergoing the same effect of the drug. What do you think of this incident? Is this a warning for us to be very keen on what we are drinking inside the club? Because no one know's if someone put a pills of drug on your drinks.

Flakka is one of the more recent synthetic drugs and research into its effects isn't extensive. However, research that has been conducted has shown that the drug can be toxic to the kidneys and cause renal failure. The unknown effects of Flakka have many alarmed about its use and popularity, as no one knows what exactly the drug can do to the body and brain in the long term.
